"Basic research is what I am doing when I don't know what I am doing.".
This was said by the famous rocket scientist, Wernher von Braun. I think it's interesting because, even though he was brilliant, he admitted that he didn't always "know what he is doing"! Even very smart people are not always sure what they should do, so you don't have to be sure all the time either. You can use this quote when you want to encourage someone who is "indecisive" or isn't sure what to do.
Discussion Questions:
|
1. Do you always like to be certain of what you are doing?
2. Are you sometimes adventurous, trying interesting new things?
3. How do you feel when a very smart person admits that they aren't sure?
4. Do you sometimes feel indecisive? What do you do then?
